SEVENTEEN's Seungkwan recently shared a heartfelt message that appeared to respond to the recent scandal surrounding HYBE.
Following an audit, the company’s internal report was leaked, revealing numerous derogatory comments directed at various artists, both from within HYBE and from other labels. In his post, Seungkwan emphasised the worth of artists and the challenges they face.

He expressed his thoughts on the K-Pop industry, stating that “the hard working colleagues and friends, including my members, are individuals who pour their hearts into this work. They experience pain because they care so deeply, and at times, they feel empty from all that love. Yet, they continue to give and receive love daily—love for themselves, their members, their families, and their fans.
I want to stress that we do not deserve to be so easily judged. Our journeys have been anything but easy; we have faced hardships, emotional struggles, and fought against numerous obstacles, all to present our best selves to fans on stage.
I hope you will not take idols lightly.”
In addition to his message, Seungkwan included a photo of a touching letter from NMIXX’s Haewon, which resonated with his sentiments. Her letter highlighted how artists have the power to spread joy and positivity.
Haewon wrote, “I believe that nothing is more challenging yet meaningful than making others smile and providing enjoyment. Through your presence as an artist and your appearances on variety shows, you are gifting people joy—not just once, but countless times. Your music, in particular, has inspired me immensely, providing me with energy, empathy, cherished memories, and comfort. This is possible because you approach everything with sincerity. I hope to grow to a point where I can also offer my true self to someone someday. Please continue to watch over me until then. Thank you.
To Boo Seungkwan sunbaenim, from Haewon.”
Haewon’s heartfelt letter comes at a time when the K-Pop industry is grappling with the fallout from HYBE’s internal report, which has been described by many as “disgusting” and “harsh.”
We hope that everyone, especially the artists we love who have helped us through our dark times, finds their happiness with their loved ones too!
