An eight-year-old Sarawakian, Dion Das Louis, captivated the audience and secured the judges' votes during the Grand Final of the Malaysian Championship of Performing Arts 2024 at Panggung Bandaraya, Kuala Lumpur on Saturday (January 27th).

According to a press release from the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), Dion's victory also ensures that he will represent Malaysia at the World Championship of Performing Arts 2024 in Long Beach, California, USA, scheduled from June 28th to July 6th, 2024.
In addition to this prestigious opportunity, Dion was awarded a gold medal and an RM3,000 scholarship for triumphing in the Junior Dance category of the national competition.
Gary Lauder, a renowned makeup artist from Sarawak who contributed to Dion's makeup and costume for the competition, shared Dion's performance and success on social media.
In a Facebook post, Gary revealed that this was Dion's second consecutive win at the Grand Final Malaysian Championship of Performing Arts.
