While hiking has become a popular pastime among many Malaysians, not everyone is cut out for steep trails and long climbs. But for one man, the challenge of hiking wasn’t just a hobby — it became a business opportunity.

A TikTok video recently went viral after a fellow hiker captured an unusual sight at the peak of Bukit Tok Kun: a man selling cold drinks in plastic bags. The video shows him at the summit, casually offering iced beverages to exhausted hikers.
According to the TikTok user, he had earlier seen the same man climbing with a massive backpack. He initially assumed the man was training to be a mountain porter, only to later discover the bag was packed with an ice container full of drinks like tea and green milk tea. Each drink was sold for RM5.
The man was later identified as Safiq Azman, a regular hiker who, on that particular day, was trying out his drink-selling idea for the first time. He later shared on TikTok that he hopes to continue this small venture on weekends.
His efforts gained widespread attention online, with many praising his creativity and work ethic.
At the end of the day, Safiq is a perfect example of someone doing what he loves while turning it into something profitable. He’s not just hiking for fun — he’s hiking smart!
