Last Friday (10 February), Transport Minister Anthony Loke announced that private vehicles are no longer required to display their road tax or bring their physical driving licence.
However, drivers will now have to carry a digital copy of their road tax and driving licence which they can find in the MyJPJ application or the Road Transport Department (JPJ) website.

Recently, a video went viral showing a man who was stopped by a JPJ officer at a roadblock because he didn’t display his road tax… But what’s funny (even made the JPJ officers laugh) is when he excitedly produces his mobile phone to show the officers his digital road tax!
Later it was revealed that the man purposely removed his road tax and drove around looking for a roadblock to test out the new digital road tax, “It’s not everyday you hear the JPJ officers complimenting you.”
“You are the first one to show us the digital road tax,” the officer can be heard saying.
The video, which was shared by user @namasayahaziq_ has since garnered over 1.1 million views at the time of writing.
Netizens took to the comment section to share their amusement, “Bro, this is not right, you’re supposed to avoid roadblocks, not look for them!” one person jokingly said.
This is so funny!
Have you guys tried using the digital road tax yet?
