Recently a video of a farmer who bravely chased away a giant monitor lizard went viral on TikTok.

In the video, that was shared by user @shahbarudin1406 shows a monitor lizard just casually walking in front of the man, who without a second thought, chased it out of his farm.
Netizens took to the comment section to share their amusement, “You’re so brave! Did you manage to really chase it away?” one person asked.
The video that was uploaded 4 days ago has since garnered over 2.6 million views at the time of writing.
In case you didn’t know, monitor lizards are dangerous to the animal they hunt. Most times, monitor lizards will not attack unless they are provoked so it’s rare for them to be aggressive towards humans.
But that doesn’t mean they’re not dangerous! Their long claws, sharp teeth and powerful bodies make them more dangerous than other lizards…
So, if you see a wild monitor lizard, you should not chase, or threaten them as they may get defensive when attacked.
