Getting upset over food because it’s sold out or the restaurant didn’t get the food right is a big deal! But… this behavior is absolutely inexcusable!
A man was detained by police last Sunday (16 October) after he threw a fit in a restaurant because the food had sold out.
Brickfields District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner, Amihizam Abdul Shukor said the suspect entered the restaurant in Taman Seri Sentosa at 1:40 am with the intention of placing an order.
The suspect, however, was furious when the server told him that the food he wanted to order had run out.
He then started making a scene by throwing stuff around the restaurant after being displeased with what the waiter had said. In a closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage, the man can be seen pushing containers of what looks to be food onto the floor.
Before leaving the restaurant, the man also turned over several chairs and tables, basically trashing the whole place.
In a statement, police said that members of the Sector 27 Motorcycle Patrol Unit (URB) from the Petaling Jaya Police Station received a call while they were on patrol.
“The suspect showed aggressive behavior and attempted to flee arrest. However, we eventually found him at a flat in Petaling Jaya.
“The suspect was charged at the Kuala Lumpur Magistrate’s court for violating Section 427 of the Penal Code and has filed a guilty plea. He received a RM1,000 find or two months jail,” the statement reads.
It’s not the end of the world! Can always come next time, right?
