But apparently, nasi campur is not cheap all the time… A tweet recently went viral after a customer was charged RM71 for their two plates of nasi campur.

According to the tweet, it was believed that they had their lunch at a stall in Kuala Lumpur and ordered two plates of white rice with grilled fish, sweet soy beef, some petai and fried squids.

But after having their meal, the customer was shocked to find that their two plates of nasi campur cost RM71.50, “Our food was RM28 and RM37, excluding drinks. They charged us RM2 for each small squid.”

The cost of the meal shocked Malaysians online as well, who expressed their disapproval in the comment section.

Some even shared similar experiences saying that they had visited the same restaurant and had been charged an absurd amount for their meal.

“If you eat here a few times you’ll realize that they charge you a different amount everyday, even if you take the same food,” one person added.

One Malaysian suggested that nasi campur stalls should display the prices of their dishes, so that customers can take food based on their budget: “It’s about time these stalls display the prices of their food.

“It doesn’t make sense to just take food on your plate and the waiter could just put whatever amount they want on a piece of paper.”

The tweet has since garnered over 2.5 million views at the time of writing.
