In a TikTok video, @ismailazemin, a spinal cord injury survivor, shared his unexpected challenge that day. He had not anticipated the lift to be under maintenance and was left wondering how he would navigate the long staircase.
To his relief, a few passersby noticed his predicament and immediately offered to help, carefully lifting him and his wheelchair up the stairs: "It was a challenge I didn’t see coming. The station's lift wasn’t working, but God sent good people to assist me. Even though they were fasting, they still made the effort to help. Thank you, kind souls," he expressed in his video.
Despite the physical strain of fasting, the men did not hesitate to lend a hand. Ismail further shared that he has never feared travelling, as he firmly believes there will always be kind-hearted people willing to assist.
The heartwarming moment struck a chord with netizens, many of whom flooded the comments section with praise for the selfless individuals, "I got emotional watching these brothers helping. May Allah multiply the rewards of their fasting," one user wrote.
Another commented, "I pray that those who helped will never feel exhausted or hungry during their fast. May all traffic lights turn green for them, and may they always have money in their pockets."
Meanwhile, one netizen recognised one of the men in the video, writing, "That’s Ustaz Sazali! He travels daily between Bukit Mertajam and Bagan Serai, yet he still finds time to help others. Truly an incredible person."
This simple yet powerful act serves as a reminder that, despite life’s challenges, there will always be good people willing to help. As Ismail’s experience shows, even the smallest gestures can make a world of difference.
