Malaysians were out voting last Saturday (GE15)!
In case you missed the news, the total voter turnout for the 15th general election (GE15) hit 70% as of 4 pm. According to the Election Commission (EC), that is about 14.82 million of the 21.17 million registered voters, exceeding the total number who voted in GE14 by 3.41 million.

But of course, Malaysians being Malaysians - we MUST take a photo of our inked finger after voting, and share it on our socials... It’s the most Malaysian thing to do!
In a video that recently went viral, shared by user @alusya.ali.79 on Facebook shows Malaysians taking photos of their inked fingers to post on social media. But hey, the general election only happens every five years, so why not kan?
…and for many Malaysians, it’s probably their first time voting, too!
Netizens took to the comment section to share their amusement: “It happens once every five years, so, why not? It also shows that you’ve done your part as a responsible Malaysian, so be proud. Well done!”
The video has since garnered over 1.1 million views and over 7,900 reactions at the time of writing.
“Done undi,” one person said, “All I see on my timeline is inked fingers. Great job, everyone,” commented another.
