Malaysian-born K-pop star Isaac Voo — best known as a member of SKYE (formerly IN2IT) — is showing his love for the country in a unique way, by taking part in the National Service Training Programme 3.0 (PLKN 3.0).

The 31-year-old singer shared that he had always been curious about military life, especially after seeing many of his South Korean celebrity friends go through mandatory national service.
“I’ve always wondered what it would feel like to be in uniform, to experience what my Korean friends have gone through. So being part of PLKN 3.0 feels like a dream fulfilled. I really do feel like a Malaysian soldier,” Isaac told Kosmo.
Currently undergoing training at the Naval Region Headquarters 1 Target Range (MAWILLA 1) in Tanjung Gelang, Kuantan, Pahang… Isaac has already experienced several military activities. One of his most memorable moments was donning a camouflage uniform and handling an M16 rifle, something he never thought he’d have the chance to do.
“I never imagined I’d get the chance to wear military gear or hold a real M16,” he said. “But don’t worry, I’m not switching careers. This is just something I’ve always wanted to try. PLKN 3.0 is genuinely enjoyable, you’re missing out if you don’t give it a go.”
Isaac isn’t alone in championing the revamped national service programme — several other Malaysian celebrities, including Fattah Amin, Diana Danielle, Syaidatuk Afifah, Amira Othman, and a number of social media personalities, have also stepped forward to encourage youth participation in PLKN 3.0.
Their hope, that their presence and enthusiasm might inspire more young Malaysians to embrace national service not just as a duty, but as a meaningful experience.
