Recently, Malaysia once again made the nation proud as our national culinary team clinched the gold medal at the Best National Dishes in the World competition, held in Dubai on Saturday, 24 May.

In a video shared on the Instagram account @malaysianchefsdubai, one of the team members uploaded clips and photos capturing the joyful moment of their victory.
The highlight of the winning menu? None other than the iconic Nasi Kerabu, which was crowned the Best International Dish in the World.
Chef Syafiq Shahrom celebrated alongside his teammates as they received their gold medals, marking a proud moment for Malaysia on the global culinary stage. The team of six chefs worked together to present a selection of traditional Malaysian favourites, including Nasi Kerabu, Ayam Rendang, Cendol, Kuih Keria, and Udang Sambal.
“Team Malaysia has won the gold medal and earned the prestigious title of Best Cuisine at the National Cooking Challenge 2025 – bringing home the trophy, title, and global pride!” the caption read.
Syria came in second place, while France secured third. Other strong contenders included Italy, China, India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Thailand, and South Africa, all of whom showcased their own exquisite national dishes to the panel of judges.
