Member of South Korean boy band, GOT7 and world famous singer and rapper, Jackson Wang recently came to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for his MAGIC MAN World Tour on Saturday (17 December) at Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil.
Jackson was welcomed in Malaysia by the country’s legendary badminton player, Datuk Wira Lee Chong Wei who shared a photo of them together on his Instagram, “Two ex-Olympians. I held a racquet, he held a sword.
“He now holds a microphone while I hold baby boys. One of the most gifted individuals I have ever met. Welcome to Malaysia, Jackson Wang,” his caption reads.
Lee Chong Wei also said that Jackson is an inspiration, “You all won’t be able to imagine the thunderous cheer during his concert last night! Your story is an inspiration,” he continued.
The GOT7 member is known for his successes as a k-pop idol, his solo hip-hop career and his work in the fashion world. However, many are not aware of his background as a young fencer.
Both of his parents were athletes, so growing up, he was exposed to sports and competitions from a very young age. He fell in love with fencing and by the time he was 16, Jackson was already competing on an Olympic level.
We never knew we needed a photo of Datuk Lee Chong Wei and Jackson Wang together until today!
Hope you had a great time in Malaysia, Jackson! But how’s the mamak, though?
