First, there were fake eggs… now, fake braces?!
The use of fake dental braces provided by bogus dentists is potentially dangerous to users’ oral health. However, many people, especially youths still fancy the use of these fake braces.

A Twitter user recently got herself into deep trouble with the Ministry of Health (KKM) after claiming that her friend, who is a “qualified” dentist, installs braces for only RM300!
The user was actually replying to a public tweet asking other Twitter users the average cost of installing braces at the dentist. She then claimed that her friend provides the braces installation service and “can even do it at your house.”
And for monthly maintenance, the public can choose whether to go to the clinic or with her friend who charges “RM50 only.”
Hmm, that sounds fishy.
In a follow-up tweet, the user also what that her friend got her certification from a dentist where she paid thousands of Ringgit and had to go for the course which took months, “She’s been doing this for years. You can ask her straight.”
The tweet has since caught the attention of the Ministry of Health on Twitter and even asked netizens to share the “certified” dentist’s contact number so they could investigate. They also tagged KKM’s dentistry department as well as their medical practice division to take action.
The user has since deleted the tweet and made her account private, however, netizens managed to screenshot the tweet and shared it.
Remember, if something is too good to be true, it probably is.
