In a recent interview with Harper's BAZAAR China, Jackson opened up about the downsides of fame, sharing his feelings of isolation and the challenges he faces in forming genuine friendships. He revealed that finding true friends in the entertainment industry is not easy.
"Although friends around me are important, I don’t have many true friends," Jackson admitted.
He explained that it is often difficult to discern if someone is a genuine friend or simply interested in his fame.
"What I have experienced in this industry over the years is that when I make friends, I don’t know whether I am making friends with the person themselves, or with their team, or with their fans," he elaborated.
For Jackson, having a pure and straightforward friendship, especially with peers, is rare. This situation has led him to become "accustomed to loneliness." While fans might feel sympathy, Jackson doesn't necessarily view his solitude negatively.
"I used to be afraid of loneliness. To be more precise, I thought I would be very afraid that if I became an artist, I wouldn’t be able to get used to it and wouldn’t know what to do," he admitted.
However, he has found unexpected benefits in his solitude.
"I found that I’m doing pretty well. On the contrary, because of my solitude, I could calmly think about issues such as creativity and development. It even gives me a chance to explore my deepest emotions, which becomes inspiration for my creations and written into my works," Jackson reflected.
Ultimately, Jackson is learning to appreciate his own company and prioritize self-love.
"I can trust myself and will stay with myself for the rest of my life. It’s also pretty good to get along well with myself," he concluded.
We hope Jackson is doing well and want him to know that fans, Ahgase, are always there for him!
