Lato-lato or also known as “clackers” was a popular toy in the 1960s and 1970s, and was recently banned in many countries as it could cause serious injuries, apparently.
The toy, which is made of two plastic balls connected with a string makes a loud clacking sound when played, is currently popular among schoolchildren. Yes, the toy is very noisy and can be very annoying.

Recently, a video went viral on Instagram showing a Tok Kadi (a man who weds a bride and a groom under the Islamic Law) was about to marry a man and a woman when suddenly a loud clacking sound can be heard in the background.
The video has since garnered a lot of attention online.
In the video, it appears that a marriage ceremony was taking place, believed to be in Indonesia.
While the Tok Kadi was reading the marriage contract, he then stopped suddenly and repeatedly said: “Lato-lato, diam” which translates to “Lato-lato, be quiet” as he got distracted by the loud clacking sound that the toy makes.
The video has since garnered over 63,600 views at the time of writing.
Netizens took to the comment section to share their amusement, “No matter where you go, lato-lato will always follow,” one person jokingly said.
