An elderly man sets fire to his car before cementing himself in his home at Taman Setapak in Kuala Lumpur.

The incident is believed to have happened on Saturday (3 August) at around 9:40 pm. The man’s neighbour saw him burning his car and called the police.
The incident also went viral online after a video was shared on TikTok by user @bigbossm_iqbal97 caught netizens’ attention, showing a crowd standing in front of the man’s house after he cemented the entrance of his home.
Also seen were police and fire vehicles parked at the side of the road.
According to the police, the man is a psychiatric patient registered with Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) and is currently living alone, as reported by Utusan Malaysia.
The Fire and Rescue Department reported that at around 9:45 pm, they received an emergency call from the police and sent over a group of nine firefighters and equipment to the location.
Firefighters had to destroy a cement wall that was built to block the door and added that the man had used over 20 padlocks to lock himself inside his own home.
