Elderly Man Makes His House Float Using 69 Plastic Barrels Because He Was Getting Tired Of Floods

After experiencing a devastating flood last year, an elderly man from Kemaman, Terengganu decided to build a floating house.

The 67-year-old man was previously quoted saying that if floods occurred, his house could float up to five meters high.

His son, who shared the video of his father’s floating house on TikTok said that 69 plastic barrels were used to support the house, while it’s being tied to two poles. 

He added that seven of his children had helped with the construction of the house. The floating house was estimated to cost about RM47,000!

The video has since gone viral on TikTok, garnering over 3.3 million views at the time of writing.

Many took to the comment section to praise his determination and creativity, “The house had gone viral before, but many ridiculed it. Look at the house now!” one person said.
