Love, if it is meant for you, it will find its way to you.
That was proven true for a shop owner in Guangdong, China, who unexpectedly reunited with his secondary school sweetheart after more than a decade apart. Just days later, the pair became engaged.

The story began when a woman walked into a rice noodle shop in Huizhou City and immediately recognised the owner. Curious, she asked if he was the boy she once loved during her school years. To her surprise, it was indeed him.
The two had not seen each other since 2009, when they broke up to study in different cities. Misunderstandings had also contributed to their parting, though their feelings never truly faded.
The shop owner later admitted he recognised her right away but was too nervous to speak. He avoided her gaze and even cried after she left. The next day, he closed his shop, posted the CCTV footage of their reunion online and shared that “something good happened”.
He also revealed that he had opened the noodle shop in their hometown because he knew she loved rice noodles.
Not long after, she introduced him to her parents, and on 29 August, which coincided with the Qixi Festival (China’s Valentine’s Day), they announced their engagement. A wedding is set to take place before the year ends.
“Our reunion is the best luck we could ever have, and there will be no more regrets. I will never lose you again,” he promised.
