The singer took to Instagram on the 25th to express his gratitude, writing in Korean: "Thank you so much to my Korean fans. I was in tears all morning after winning my first music show. A big thank you to Rosie (Rosé) for helping us achieve first place and for your love of 'APT.' Love, Bruno oppa."
Fans found his message amusing, with many commenting on how he embraced the "K-pop idol" style, and some jokingly speculating that Rosé might have helped him write it. Reactions like “Bruno Mars in a K-pop style? Love it!” and “I can’t believe Bruno Mars is No. 1 on a Korean music show” filled social media.
The duet, "APT." (Apartment), featuring Blackpink's Rosé, was released on the 18th and quickly became a hit, earning first place on Mnet's M Countdown on the 24th. The song, inspired by the popular "Apartment Game" in Korea, is part of Rosé's upcoming debut album rosie, set to release on December 6.
Following its release, "APT." skyrocketed to the top of multiple charts, including Melon, Genie, Bugs, and Vibe, dominating the real-time, daily, and "Top 100" rankings. It also gained international success, securing the top spot on iTunes in 40 regions and becoming No. 1 on Spotify in the U.S.
This achievement made Rosé the first Korean female solo artist to top the U.S. Spotify chart, while the song also hit No. 1 globally on Spotify's daily top songs chart.
The music video, released on the 18th, also smashed records, reaching over 100 million views on YouTube by the 23rd, just five days after its release.
