In case you didn’t know, all able-bodied men in South Korea aged between 18 and 28 must serve in the military for between 18 and 21 months as part of efforts to defend against nuclear-armed North Korea.

Some South Koreans, however, have won exemptions for shorter terms including Olympic and Asian Games medal winners, classical musicians and dancers who won top prizes in certain competitions.

All the best boys! We can’t wait to see what 2025 will bring!
