A one-minute video recently went viral on social media, involving an incident where a gray-coloured car had blocked the path of an ambulance during an emergency.
The video, shared by @IniAlannn on Twitter, showed an ambulance passing through the right lane but was blocked by a car, which then forces the ambulance driver to use the loudspeaker in an effort to get the car to move out of the way.
Despite being told from the loudspeaker to move to the left, the driver of the car remained adamant and did not budge from his position.
The tweet has since gotten over 140,000 views and 2,000 replies from netizens who were angry at the car driver for being selfish.
Netizens even exposed the driver’s 11 pending summons amounting to RM2,650.
The driver of the car, believed to be Simon Liew, uploaded a status on his Facebook account clarifying that he did not hear the sound of the ambulance’s sirens because the music in his car was too loud.
He also admitted his mistake and even apologised to everyone, including the ambulance driver.
Let’s take this as a lesson, guys! Driving with loud music can be dangerous because it is very distracting.
Not only that, but according to shookandstone.com, research found that driving with loud music delays a driver’s reaction time, increasing the likelihood of not braking soon enough or failing to dodge an obstacle on the road.
Be responsible on the road!
