Uncle Kentang Helped Transfer A Student To School Closer To Home So They Can Save On Bus Fees

Uncle Kentang has done it again!

Kuan Chee Heng, famously known as Uncle Kentang online, helped a factory cleaner to transfer her son to a school nearer to where she stays so they could save on school bus fees.

Taking to his Facebook page, Uncle Kentang said that the woman who is a cleaner in Puchong and also a single mother, had reached out to him for help to transfer her son from SMK Batu 14 Puchong to SMK Puchong Utama which is nearer to their home.

In the post, he said: “She had gone to the district education office three times to have her son transferred to another school and had already spent RM240 on transportation, but she was turned away every time because she lacked some documents.”

The woman, who works as a cleaner could not afford the RM150 per month school bus fees, which is why she wanted to register her son to a school that is closer to where they live.

“Her salary is RM1,200 and the rental for her house is already RM600 monthly and sometimes the family goes without food,” he said.

Uncle Kentang added that after meeting with the Petaling Perdana district deputy education officer, Tuan Haji Musa, the district education department agreed to allow the woman’s son to change schools.

“She is very happy, her son can now attend school that is closer to their home and she can save on bus fees. If not, the family will have to eat rice mixed with plain water,” he added.

Not only that, but Uncle Kentang also said that he will be providing the woman and his son with some food: “I can’t let the boy study on an empty stomach, so we will be supporting them.”
