Uncle Kentang Gets Commonwealth Points Of Light Award For His Philanthropy Work!

If you’ve been keeping up with what's been going on in the country since the first MCO, you’ll know that Uncle Kentang, or his real name, Kuan Chee Heng, is known for his kindness and incredible generosity towards people in need!

Recently, Uncle Kentang was awarded the Commonwealth Points of Light Award by Queen Elizabeth for all his philanthropy work!

Taking to his Facebook, he shared that he was informed of the award via email. 

He said that he is sharing the honour with all his followers who have been giving him the support and encouragement to go out and help those in need. 

“It is truly a great honour to all of us,” he said.

Uncle Kentang also said that he will be receiving the award on June 12th from the British High Commissioner and that the award was for all because without the public’s support, he would not be able to help others. 

For those who don’t know, the Commonwealth Points of Light Award is an appreciation of inspirational volunteers across 53 Commonwealth countries for the difference they make in their communities.

According to Malay Mail, Uncle Kentang is the fourth Malaysian to receive the award!

Other recipients were the Teddy Bear Doctor, Dr. Madhusudhan Shanmugam, freshwater turtle researcher Chen Pelf Nyok and founders of Zero Waste Malaysia movement Khor Sue Yee and Aurora Tin.
