With schools still shut all across Malaysia, classes have changed dramatically with the distinctive rise of e-learning, whereby teaching is undertaken remotely and on digital platforms.

Which means, the school yearbook won’t be the same this year… No photo of students in classrooms, no hanging out at the canteen or playing sports in the field.

Twitter user @ninomelet shared pictures of her school yearbook with a caption: “This is what my school magazine looks like!”

The photo shows a screenshot of her Zoom class as a “class photo” for their school magazine, which sadly, is the best that they can do for now due to the pandemic.

She also clarified that they have other class photos which were taken before the pandemic, so not all the pages will only be pictures of Zoom screenshots.

Many netizens also pointed out that some of the students did not switch on their webcams for the screenshot, but she explained: “For those wondering why many of us did not turn on our camera, we only do that for special occasions. We didn’t know that they were taking a screenshot or else we would have turned on our cameras.”

It’s a hard time for everyone, but we’re glad to see that Malaysians are still trying to turn it around by doing something creative!
