How far will you fly for nasi lemak?
In October, YouTuber Darren Cronian flew 6,000 miles (9656 km) from Athens to Kuala Lumpur just for some good ol’ nasi lemak!
On 15 December, the Englishman tweeted that he was craving something else now - a Ramly burger this time. Nothing, and we mean nothing, can beat the yummy greasy goodness of a Ramly burger (which strangely tastes best in the middle of the night).
Unsurprisingly, Malaysians quickly shared suggestions on where to find the best burgers in town. Ranging from patties wrapped in egg, curry burgers and black pepper burgers, it has become a very mouth-watering thread and we kinda want one (or more) now.
Last month, Cronian told Malay Mail that he decided to visit Kuala Lumpur on a whim after a photo of a nasi lemak popped up on his Instagram feed. Who ever doubted the power of social media marketing?
“It was literally the first Malaysian dish that I’d tasted on my first visit to Kuala Lumpur, and like a typical British guy, I ate each item on the plate individually. After watching a local eat nasi lemak with his fingers, and mixing up all of the ingredients, it made me want to do the same,” he said. We agree, there’s really no other way to enjoy a plate of nasi lemak!
Now, for the real question - would you fly all the way to UK for some fish and chips?
