The note, written by her father, 58-year-old COVID-19 patient in Perak, Ahmad bin Ahmad Taib wrote the message for his wife and children just before he was sedated.

The message read: “Please pray and keep performing solat hajat. Forgive Abah, take care, everyone.”

...and the most heartbreaking part about it is that the family was unable to keep the note as it may have been contaminated with the virus.

Syafiqa said in her Facebook post: “This is the last note from Abah before he was put to sleep last Monday. I cry every time…”

“I was the only one who could attend the funeral. It’s sad because I couldn’t kiss him for the last time. I could only watch him from afar. COVID-19 is no joke and no one is immune,” she told the New Straits Times.

Syafiqa also told reporters that her father suffered from kidney disease, tested positive for the virus on Thursday (November 19th), before he was rushed to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB) for quarantine and further treatment.

She added: “It only took a week for the virus to kill my father. I hope people will take this virus more seriously and observe all the safety measures set by the Health Ministry (MOH).”
