According to Harian Metro, the giant batik python is said to be over 200kg.
Director-general of the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (PERHILITAN), Datuk Abdul Kadir Abu Hashim said that the incident happened in Kuala Krai, Kelantan last Saturday (May 29th).
The python was caught by a 34-year-old man who owns a rubber plantation in Kampung Lubuk Simpul, Kuala Krai at 6 pm.
“They were worried that the python could threaten the safety of the residents around his plantation, so he decided to catch it and take it on a motorcycle ride to be handed over to PERHILITAN,” he said.
They had also called the Kuala Krai Wildlife staff at 12 pm the next day to give them a heads up about the delivery of the python.
Kadir also apologised to PERHILITAN and the public as he did not plan for the video to go viral.
The giant python was handed over safely over to PERHILITAN on Sunday at 2 pm and is being placed temporarily in a PERHILITAN cage.
It looks cool, but please, do not try this at home, okay guys?
We’re glad that the snake and the two men are okay...
