Malaysians were eager to sign up for round two of the all-age sign-ups for the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine after it was announced that only limited slots were available.

The registration started at around 12 pm, however, later it was deferred to 12:15pm onwards. But by 1:30 pm or about an hour after, the registration for the available slots were closed. The COVID-19 Immunisation Task Force announced that all available 956,609 slots were fully taken in just an hour!

Many took to Twitter to express their frustrations and to share their experiences of registering for the slots, with some also sharing the technical glitches they had to go through.

BTS fans, or ARMYs, may have caused McDonalds’s online food delivery service “McDelivery” to become a trending topic on Twitter, as they turned to it to by the limited edition purple-themed meal, while also sharing their experiences of disruptions to the service due to heavy online traffic.

Malaysians showed their love and excitement for the popular K-pop band, BTS and the popular fast food chain McDonald’s, by turning it into a trending topic on Twitter, and also making the effort to come out to buy the meal, either by queuing for it physically or through drive-thrus.

And we’re so lucky that Malaysia is the first country in Asia to get their hands on the BTS Meal, which debuted in only 12 countries worldwide, which came in purple-coloured packaging and bearing the band’s logo.

What a day, right?

We hope that everyone had a good break by staying safe at home and spending time to rest and relax before we continue on with the rest of the week!
