M’sian Olympians Give Us A Sneak Peek Of The Olympic Village On TikTok!

There have been some significant changes to this year’s Olympic Games due to the pandemic - new social distancing guidelines, cardboard beds and almost no spectators!

Since arriving at the Olympic Village, some Malaysian athletes have been sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses into their everyday lives in Tokyo, making us a little FOMO, not gonna lie...

Malaysia’s artistic gymnast, Jeremiah Loo shared on his TikTok, a walkthrough of the Olympic Village.

In the first video, he showed a glimpse of the dining hall and the gifts he got for competing in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, from a brand new phone to custom clothes.

In the second video, Jeremiah shared a tour of the Olympic Village - Team Malaysia’s apartment that they apparently share with Team Vietnam and Team Philippines, the Olympic rings and the self-driving buses!

We also got the chance to see the sunset in Japan thanks to national diver, Leong Mun Yee, where she posted a video of a sun setting near the Olympic rings.

Not to mention the people queuing to get a photo with the Olympic rings! It’s so panjang

She also shared a video of the bed in the athletes’ village that recently went viral on TikTok because they were made of cardboard. Yes, cardboard!

Her caption read: “At first I thought, why didn’t they remove the packaging? But actually the whole bed is made out of cardboard and the mattress is customisable!

But the best part about the whole tour of the village is definitely the athletes’ dining hall which offers over 700 mals, 24/7 a day. Mun Yee even shared with her followers what she eats in a day!

The food looks good...

Meanwhile, Datuk Azizulhasni Awang, who is apparently not at the Olympic Village because all cycling competitions will be held at an existing course that is far from the athletes’ village.

Due to that, all cyclists were housed in a satellite village close to the Japan Cycle Sport Centre venue.

But hey, he won’t be feeling too left out since he got the view of Mount Fuji! So cantik, we’re jealous.

In his YouTube video, Azizulhasni also tested out the famous cardboard bed, showing us how many people it takes to break the cardboard bed.

But don’t worry, he didn’t really break it!

We wish we could be there, too, it looks like they’re having so much fun!
