The price of cooking oil, or any type of oil has spiked recently, creating headaches for those who are using it on a daily basis.
And because cooking oil is thought to be expensive, an Indonesian groom chose to gift his bride-to-be a one liter container of cooking oil as her dowry.

Supadi, who is 60-years-old married 54-year-old sumariati in a private wedding ceremony on Twosday (February 22nd).
Supadi got the idea to present his wife with the cooking oil as her dowry because… it’s “scarce and expensive.”
According to Detik.com, Meki Hasan Tachtadudin, a religious affairs officer in the Sooko District of East Java said that because the price of cooking oil has been increasing, it give more value to the household. Wah!
“Although one liter isn’t much, it means a lot to the family. It’s a necessity nowadays, because everyone uses it for cooking.” Hm, we agree!
But that’s not all, of course! Supadi also included a dowry of IDR1 million which is equivalent to RM291.63 in cash!
