The organisation wrote “The joy of welcoming Aidilfitri was disrupted when 11 cats were found dead in a ruthless killing at the Seri Lily Bukit Beruntung apartment in Rawang Selangor. It is an inhumane and cruel act.”
Meanwhile, the President of the MAA, Arie Dwi Andika when contacted by Astro AWANI, said he had asked witnesses to come forward to help provide information on the case.
"We hope the witnesses to the scene can come forward to assist the investigation. They do not have to be worried because their identity will be kept confidential.”
"We will help explain the legal process and deal with the authorities, they don’t have to worry or be scared," he said.
He added that for whatever reason if the cats were said to be disturbing at all, the act of killing the animal was still against the law.
"It is an offence under the Animal Welfare Act 2015 and if a perpetrator is found guilty, there will be punishments.”
"That is a minimum of one-year imprisonment up to a maximum of three years or a minimum fine of RM20,000 and a maximum of RM100,000," he said.
If you are or anyone you know is a witness to the horrific incident, contact the MAA on Whatsapp +601120901097 immediately to seek justice for these poor cats.
