The zoo is a fun place to visit with your family and friends, however, there are rules set in place, to not only keep you safe but also help keep the animals safe.

In zoos, giving food to the animals is discouraged due to the strict dietary controls in place. More generally, artificial feeding can result in vitamin deficiencies, and dietary mineral deficiencies and can be very dangerous!
A visitor at Zoo Negara (the National Zoo) learned the hard way WHY we shouldn’t even attempt to feed the orangutans living there.
In a video shared by Zoo Negara on their TikTok page shows Maya, the orangutan who is seen approaching the person recording the video, and doesn’t look exactly pleased with them…
Maya approached the visitor, while still being in her enclosure, and grab something that she’s been hiding under her left foot, which she then throws at the visitor. And it turns out it was a frog!
So yes, this explains why we should not throw things at animals… because you wouldn’t like it if animals started throwing things at you, right?!
