Since the pandemic began, wearing a facemask in public places has become the new normal to ensure that we do not spread the virus to other people.

But how many of us are aware that it is equally important to dispose of our used masks properly?
Majlis Bandaraya Pulau Pinang (MBPP) took to their Facebook page to raise awareness on the issue and at the same time to pay tribute to their hard working cleaning workers.

In the post, they said: “Please dispose of your facemasks properly, inside a trash bin and not on the ground or in the drains.”
According to the New Straits Times, used face masks are a toxic waste that can pose as a health hazard to humans.
So, please be considerate of other people, especially the workers who are risking their health and safety every single day picking up our mess!
