We’re glad that the police were quick to help this aunty!

Recently, the Bentong district police (IPD) shared on their Facebook page that they received a call on Sunday (June 13th) about an elderly woman who was stranded at the side of the road on the Karak Expressway.
The IPD then sent over a few police officers who were on duty to bring the woman back to the police headquarters.
Its chief, Supt Ziham Mohd Kahar said that the 62-year-old woman, known as Poh, was dropped off by the roadside when her bus could not enter Bentong due to the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) in that area. Oh no, poor aunty!

The concerned police officers wanted to offer her a place at a hotel in Bentong, however, the area was still under EMCO.
They then decided to provide Poh a temporary place to stay in a room at a Police’s Family Association (PERKEP) house, which is normally used by new police recruits before they were given a permanent home.
But, on the next day when they came to check on Aunty Poh, they found that she had left the police housing and had rented a small room for herself in Kampung Kemansur.
Concerned for the woman’s safety, the police sent a team from the Women Peace Police Squad (AMANITA) to locate her.
According to Zaiham, the woman was doing fine and she was safe in her new home.
“We were willing to let her stay at the police housing for as long as she wanted, but maybe she felt a bit guilty,” he said.
