There’s no doubt that our Health director-general, Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah is loved and appreciated by everyone in the country.
In recent weeks, the Health DG has received praises from Malaysians for his outstanding effort in handling the COVID-19 outbreak, even catching the attention of people internationally.
Malaysians have decided to fill the Health Ministry’s live Facebook post on 18 April of Dr. Noor Hisham’s daily press conference, with birthday wishes for the Malaysian hero, two days before the date of his actual birthday!
The video has since garnered over 616 thousand views and was shared over 38 thousand times.
Hundreds of social media users filled the comments section with appreciative and loving birthday wishes, just minutes of the press conference going live.

Not only that, but the hashtag #HappyBirthdayDGHisham is also trending in the top spot on Twitter with thousands of users sending in birthday and well wishes to the Health DG.
But of course, flooding the comments section with birthday wishes isn’t enough for us grateful Malaysians- a petition was created in accordance with his birthday, to show everyone’s support!
The petition, “Happy Birthday Dr. Noor Hisham DG MOH & In Support & Appreciation to all Front-liners” was created three days prior to DG Hisham’s birthday, and it was created by Malaysians to show appreciation towards his efforts in combating COVID-19, as well as support for those at the frontline.

“We hope that through this petition we can rally Malaysians behind the Ministry of Health, so that they may be continually motivated to know that the prayers, support, and appreciation of all Malaysians are with them.” said the petition.
The petition aims to collect 1 million signatures from Malaysians, to show their support and appreciation to the Health DG, as well as those who are in the frontline, and has 37,512 signatures so far.
Happy 57th birthday to our national hero, Health DG Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah. Thank you for your efforts and sacrifice to keep all of us safe from this pandemic!
