Ever since the coronavirus pandemic hit the country, Malaysians have been following our Health director-general Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah’s social media accounts for new updates regarding the COVID-19 situation in the country.
An Instagram account with the username @dghisham has recently gone viral after it was revealed that the account does not belong to DG Hisham.
The Health Ministry took to its official social media platforms to inform their followers of the fake Instagram account.
“The @dghisham account is fake. It is neither managed by the Health director-general, nor by the Health Ministry,” it said.
It also shared a list of “Former Usernames” that was used previously by the fake account, which helps users identify whether the account is authentic or misleading.
Guys, it’s not right to create fake accounts and use someone else’s identity on social media, especially if that person is someone important to the health and safety of our country!
FYI, DG Hisham’s actual Instagram username is @dg_hisham, okay! Go give him a follow.
Stay safe online and don’t simply believe everything you see on the internet!
