A RM10 Note From Dad

Get your tissues ready, because we don’t think you’ll get through this article without it!

Losing our loved ones can be a tragic moment for many, but having something to remember them by might just might make each day without them easier.

Facebook user, Hyza Ezany, recently acquired a RM10 note at a bank in Batu Berendam, Malacca, with a rather touching message. The message read; “The last cash given by dad on 21/5/2010, Friday, 7.10 am. I love you, dad.”

We do not want to think about how bad the situation must have been for this person to have had to give up such a precious memento, but Hyza was determined to return the RM10 note to its rightful owner.

In her Facebook post, she called for the owner to claim the money for free and urged everyone to share her post so she could find the person. Ove 24,000 people shared her post in hopes of finding the owner, and all their effort has not gone to waste.

Through the power of social media, the search is finally over after the owner of the RM10 note was finally reunited with her prized possession- and that story will leave you in tears.

As it turns out, the owner of the RM 10 note is Anne Malar Yesudass.

The note was given to her by her dad on the 21st of May 2010, back when she was 17 years old, when her dad sent her off to school at 7:10am. Unfortunately for her, that was the last memory of her with her dad, as he met with an accident right after.

Anne had since kept the cash in her purse until September 2018 when her purse was stolen.

In her Facebook post, she shared that she wasn’t sad that her purse was stolen, but she was upset that a valuable memory of her dad was taken away from her. “There was always an ache in my heart whenever I think of it,” she said.

… and now finally, after more than a year, she is finally reunited with her precious RM10 note, all thanks to Hyza and everyone who shared her story across social media.

What a powerful tool social media can be! We are so happy for Anne and hope that this story will serve as a reminder for everyone to cherish their loved ones.
