A 63-year-old driver accidentally hit the accelerator of her Perodua Myvi instead of the brakes as she was looking for a parking spot, which caused her vehicle to crash into a furniture and electrical shop at the Pandan Malim Plaza in Malacca on Saturday (24 October).

According to BERNAMA, Melaka Tengah district police chief Assistant Commissioner Afzanisar Ahmad said: “An initial investigation found that the lady driver was looking for a parking spot when suddenly a sound came from the left front tire, causing her to accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake pedal. The vehicle skidded to the left.”

He added: “Her car then crashed into the shop, injuring a 45-year-old customer and knocking down a few electrical items.”

The customer sustained injuries to her head, face, hands, legs, and back, and has been sent to Melaka Hospital for treatment and that the case is being investigated under Section 43 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

We hope that everyone is okay! Be safe on the road, guys.
