12-Year-Old Boy Went Viral After “Snake Livestream”, Netizens Praised Him For Great Reporting

A young boy from Kedah took the internet by storm after his “live reporting” when discovering a 4m-long python in a drain in his neighborhood.

In the 2 minute 47 seconds video shows 12-year-old Muhammad Haziq speaks like a reporter about the snake. 

He can be heard saying that residents initially thought that the drain was clogged but were shocked to discover the huge snake while they were cleaning the drains. The incident reportedly happened at Bukit Selambau in Sungai Petani, Kedah. 

“Assalamualaikum, people of Bukit Selambau. Good afternoon. I’m Muhammad Haziq Mohd Asyraf and this is the latest news. I am reporting live from the market of Bukit Selambau,” he said in the video.

The video has since garnered over 1 million views and over 30,000 reactions at the time of writing.

Netizens commented on the video, praising the young boy for his confidence. One person said: “Best journalist of 2022 goes to this kid!”

According to Kosmo, the Malaysia Civil Defence Force (APM) said the 30kg python has been caught and released back into its natural habitat.
