Deputy Public Prosecutor Nadia Eleena Jamaluddin Akbal is seeking an appropriate penalty for the accused, considering his prior criminal history. The accused is represented by lawyer Simret Bedh Singh Sharma from Yayasan Bantuan Guman Kebangsaan (YBGK), who argued for leniency, highlighting the man's unemployment and his responsibility for a 21-year-old child.

The accused faces charges under Section 380 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum prison sentence of seven years, a fine, and the possibility of whipping for second and subsequent offenses.

In his defense, Sharma stated, "This is the accused’s first offense, so I request the minimum prison sentence be considered." However, Nadia Eleena countered, affirming that the accused has a history of previous criminal records involving various offenses.

The court ruled for the commencement of the accused's three-month jail term from the date of his arrest, underscoring the importance of accountability even in the pursuit of culinary desires.
