Two People Suffered Broken Legs After Condominium Lift In KL Plunges 8 Floors

Six individuals, including a two-year-old girl experienced a terrifying moment on Friday (14 October) when the elevator they were on suddenly fell from the eighth floor of a condominium in Kuala Lumpur.

In the incident, which took place in Lengkuk Thamby Abdullah in Brickfields, a woman and a man suffered broken legs while the others escaped injury.

According to BERNAMA, the Kuala Lumpur fire and rescue department said it received an emergency call at 9.52pm and a fire engine with 11 firefighters from the Hang Tuah fire and rescue station rushed to the scene.

“According to the victims, the lift suddenly plunged from the eighth floor to the ground floor. The injured man and woman were sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for treatment.

“The rescue operation ended at 11.35pm and the cause of the incident is still under investigation,” it said in a statement today.
