The ToYm Micro Drama Scriptwriting Competition and Best Micro Drama Competition Awards Presentation Night wrapped up in spectacular fashion last Sunday, marking a significant moment for creative talents across the region. Held at the Majestic Marine Ballroom @ Confetti KL, Mines 2, the event welcomed over 300 guests—including filmmakers, writers, and media professionals.
The prestigious event was organised by Thousands of Years Media (ToYm), co-presented by Sunstrong Entertainment, ToYm Wardrobe, WMD, and Flowers.com.my.

More than just a glamorous awards night, it was a celebration of storytelling and a platform for emerging voices to shine. Both competitions saw over 300 entries from across Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan—proving that the micro drama format is gaining serious traction across the region.
In his keynote speech, ToYm and Sunstrong Entertainment founder Jment Lim shared an uplifting message: "The world may not be perfect, but when we take responsibility and do what we can, we can make our own world—and even the whole world—a little better."
He emphasised ToYm’s continued commitment to building a strong local creative industry through initiatives like the ToYm Shining Star Idol Competition, the ToYm Micro Drama Scriptwriting Competition, and the ToYm Best Micro Drama Competition. These platforms have been instrumental in spotlighting new talent and raising the bar for Malaysian content.
ToYm and Sunstrong have also made waves internationally. Their feature film Snow in Midsummer won the Uncaged Award for Best Feature Film at the 23rd New York Asian Film Festival and the Firebird Award at the 48th Hong Kong International Film Festival. It was also featured at the Venice International Film Festival—bringing Malaysian stories to the world stage.
Locally, the micro drama In Character made history as Malaysia’s first Chinese-language micro drama, amassing over 14 million views and becoming a milestone in the digital content space.
Looking ahead, Jment Lim announced plans for at least five new micro dramas. These will explore various genres and themes—including festive specials and Malay-language productions—reflecting Malaysia’s cultural diversity. One of the upcoming titles, Reborn and Revenge, will feature contestants from the ToYm Shining Star Idol Competition and promises ToYm’s signature blend of fast-paced drama, emotional depth, and powerful storytelling.

The night also introduced ToYm’s first signed female artist, Fatimah Noryyah. Performing songs in English, Malay, and Mandarin—including Always Remember Us This Way, Bukan Cinta Biasa, and Tibetan Plateau—she wowed the audience with her multilingual talent and stage presence.
