Three family members were swept away by floodwaters yesterday (July 5th) and today, their bodies were discovered at Kampung Iboi in Kupang, Baling, Kedah.
According to BERNAMA, a pregnant woman and her mother-in-law’s bodies were discovered together behind a mound of wood around 100 meters from where they were reported missing. They are 23-year-old Nurul Anis Abu Hassan and 53-year-old Salmah Mat Akib.

Around noon on the same day, Salmah’s son, Khairul Ikhwan Nor Azman was also found dead. He was only 14 years old.
The Kedah Fire and Rescue Department chief Sayani Saidon was that they were trapped when floodwaters washed down mud and tonnes of debris, including the three victims.
Meanwhile, after continuous heavy rain on Monday (July 4th), 334 victims from nine villages in Baling, Kedah were transferred to several flood relief centers (PPS) in the district.
