According to The Star, the Michelin Guide Malaysia picks will be revealed in December, on a date that will shortly be confirmed. This is the time when Malaysia’s talented cooks will learn if their restaurants will receive the Michelin star.

The Michelin Guide’s international director, Gwendal Poullenec said: “We are thrilled to welcome Kuala Lumpur and Penang to the Michelin Guide family!”

“The upcoming selection will unveil a new page in Asia’s gastronomic prowess, highlighting the wonders of Malaysian cuisine and the abundance of homegrown culinary talents. Our famously anonymous inspectors are already in the field to experience this colorful culinary scene and find the best local gems,” he added.

The Michelin Guide has a presence in 37 countries like Austria, Brazil, the United States, the United Kingdom and including our neighbors… Thailand and Singapore!

And now they’re here in Malaysia!

Restaurant inspections and reviews are still being conducted by Michelin Guide inspectors in Penang and KL.

It is also interesting to note that Kuala Lumpur and Penang restaurants, and possibly even street food vendors will compete for the Michelin stars.

Wahh, so exciting. All the best, guys!
