Traffic congestion is a recurring issue in Kuala Lumpur, particularly in proximity to LRT and MRT stations, where numerous cars tend to line up along the curbs, awaiting passengers.
Michelle Ng Mei Sze, the ADUN (Assemblywoman) of Subang Jaya, recently conveyed through a series of tweets that barriers have been erected alongside the Subang Jaya LRT to facilitate the passage of buses.

She explained, "Buses frequently encountered difficulties navigating through the area due to cars idling for passengers along the road, causing disruptions to their services."
In consideration of public transportation users, Ng highlighted that commuters utilizing the LRT can conveniently reach their destinations using the Smart Selangor Bus, accessible via route SJ01 or through the Kumpool and Mobi apps, which can be downloaded and installed on smartphones.
"With an extensive network of over 200 stops in Subang Jaya, public transportation is becoming increasingly accessible."
Following her re-election as the ADUN for Subang Jaya, she outlined her objective to "enhance the accessibility of Subang Jaya through improved public transportation, simultaneously contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions."
To realize this vision, she is advocating for underutilized spaces to be transformed into pedestrian walkways, bicycle lanes, and lanes dedicated to e-mobility.
Additionally, she is collaborating with the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MBSJ) to introduce BEAM, an e-scooter service provider, to Subang Jaya.
This initiative underscores the importance of being conscious about our parking choices. The proliferation of cars waiting along the curbs not only exacerbates traffic congestion but also hinders the efficiency of public transportation systems.
Thoughtful parking practices not only improve accessibility for all modes of transport but also play a significant role in reducing our carbon footprint, ultimately leading to a more sustainable and efficient urban environment for everyone!
