South Korean Company Invests Over RM4 Billion to Create Malaysia’s First K-Culture Town in Johor’s Forest City

The announcement, which was shared via Forest City 森林城市’s Facebook page, revealed that a memorandum of agreement has been signed between GG56 Korea Limited and Forest City’s main developer, Country Garden Pacificview Sdn Bhd (CGPV). This massive investment will pave the way for a project that promises to celebrate Korean culture in a grand, immersive way, transforming Forest City into a global destination for K-Culture enthusiasts.

As part of the development, the project will include a K-content production studio, an international cultural hub, and world-class housing designed to attract people from across the globe. According to Datuk Md Othman Yusof, the executive director of CGPV, this collaboration is more than just a financial investment—it’s a step toward solidifying Forest City’s reputation as a leading center for innovation and culture on the world stage.

"This memorandum of agreement marks a significant milestone in our efforts to continue growing Forest City as a hub for cultural and sustainable development at a global level," Othman said during the announcement.

Present at the signing ceremony on August 21, CEO and co-founder of GG56 Korea Limited, Kim Young Kun, shared his vision for the project. He highlighted the unique opportunity that Forest City offers to create something extraordinary—an entire town that embodies the vibrancy and creativity of Korean culture. For Kim and his team, this is a chance to bring something truly special to life, attracting both local and international visitors.

"Forest City provided the perfect environment for us to develop a distinctive Korean cultural experience," Kim expressed with excitement.
