The incident was caught on camera by a dashcam inside the parked car. The video footage was later shared on social media by SG Road Vigilante, a group that aims to promote safe driving habits in Singapore.

The video showed the driver double parking at the side and getting out of his car to assess the damage to both vehicles.

After examining the damage, the driver decided to place a note on the parked car's windshield containing his name and phone number. This action appeared to be a gesture of goodwill, indicating that he was willing to take responsibility for the damage caused.

However, upon closer inspection, the owner of the parked car discovered that the name and phone number on the note were invalid.

The owner of the parked car was not present at the scene at the time of the accident. After finding out that the name and phone number were fake, the owner filed a police report against the driver for the hit and run.

The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of being accountable for one's actions. The driver had a responsibility to take responsibility for the accident, regardless of whether or not the owner of the parked car was present.

By placing a note with fake contact information on the parked car's windshield, the driver failed to fulfill this responsibility.

Furthermore, fleeing the scene of an accident is illegal and can lead to serious consequences...

It is important for all drivers to be aware of their legal obligations in the event of an accident and to take the necessary steps to ensure that they fulfill these obligations. This includes providing accurate contact information to the owner of the damaged vehicle and filing a police report if necessary.

In conclusion, the incident highlights the importance of responsible driving and the need for drivers to take accountability for their actions.

It is crucial for drivers to be aware of their legal obligations and to act accordingly in the event of an accident. By doing so, drivers can help to promote a safe and responsible driving culture in Singapore.
