Meanwhile, the Kajang Municipal Council (MPKJ) announced earlier this month that it will strengthen enforcement of the mandatory mask mandate for restaurant workers and hawkers starting next year.
MPKj council president Najmuddin Jemain stated that the ruling of mandatory facemasks for food handlers and cooks in Selangor was decided on 7 September during the state government’s council meeting.
"This is one of several initiatives to ensure that workers handling food and beverages are accustomed to wearing masks as a means of ensuring cleanliness at eateries," he explained.
