According to Harian Metro, Minister Datuk Seri Roland Sagah Wee Inn stated that the assessment is a standardised test designed for both Year Six pupils and Form Three students involved in the bilingual programme: "The evaluation will cover Science, Mathematics and English.
“The exam papers are developed by local subject experts and are verified by Cambridge University Press and Assessment (CUPA) to ensure they meet international standards," he explained.
The initiative is a collaborative effort involving the Ministry of Education Malaysia (KPM), the Sarawak State Education Department (JPNS), Swinburne Innovation Malaysia (SWIM), and a state-owned university in Sarawak.
"This reflects our strong commitment to aligning Sarawak’s education system with global benchmarks," the minister added.
The formal partnership between SWIM and CUPA was cemented with a service contract signed on 30 April this year in Cambridge, United Kingdom. The signing ceremony was also witnessed by Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
