This extraordinary prize package is part of the government's Road To Gold (RTG) initiative, supported by property developer Top Residency.
Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh shared this exciting announcement during a press conference on July 16, emphasising the importance of motivating and supporting Malaysia's athletes. "Winning an Olympic gold medal is a tremendous honour for Malaysia.
“We want to galvanise both the private sector and the general public to rally behind our athletes. Sports have the power to unite our nation, and this initiative provides a platform for the private sector to reward the athlete who achieves this historic milestone," she stated.

In addition to the apartment and RM1 million, Senheng Malaysia has promised a personal sponsorship worth RM1 million. This generous offer targets the men's badminton doubles pair Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik, or the mixed doubles player Chen Tang Jie, should they capture the elusive gold medal.
These athletes were nurtured under Senheng's SS Badminton Talent program from 2012 to 2016, reflecting the company's ongoing dedication to developing local sports talent.
Yeoh also mentioned that more sponsors have expressed interest and contacted the RTG committee. The committee is currently in the process of finalising legal agreements to ensure all commitments are honoured.
These new incentives are in addition to the RM1 million reward already guaranteed under the government's National Sports Incentive Scheme for Malaysia's first gold medalist. Silver and bronze medalists will also be handsomely rewarded with RM300,000 and RM100,000, respectively.
Furthermore, automobile manufacturer Chery Malaysia recently announced additional rewards for Olympic medalists. Gold medal winners will receive a Tiggo 8 Pro SUV, silver medalists an Omoda E5, and bronze medalists a Tiggo 7 Pro.
